A man known as Kim Dotcom, previously convicted of tech related crimes, is living under house arrest at his New Zealand mansion playing video games and making music. New Zealand police, working in conjunction with the U.S. government, raided his home and business in January 2012.
They froze his assets and business under the guise that his popular website MEGA Upload enabled movie piracy. Prosecutors have not yet charged him with a crime. Since Dotcom’s arrest, he’s reconfigured the website MEGA into an information privacy service.
